Salt and pepper roast. Place in melted shortening in a pan and brown all edges. Place beef in a slow cooker, covered in boiled water for 4-5 hours. Make sure to keep water level up on or top of the roast. Remove roast from slow cooker and let rest. Make gravy from the liquid in the slow cooker. Serve hot.
