It was always a special moment to open the door after a hard day at school and catch a whiff of warm, chocolate brownies. My mouth waters just thinking of it and my heart melts at the thought of Mom’s love that made it happen.

Equipment
- 9 x 13 baking pan
Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cococa powder sifted
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts toasted or optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350oF.Mix in order given but do not over beat.Pour into lightly greased 9×13 pan and gently spread evenly.Bake in middle of oven for 30 minutes – no longer.If you want to ice these brownies, sprinkle on some chocolate chips directly on top after them have come out of the oven and spread with a spatula while they are melting.
