Chinese Chicken
From Terri-Lynn RaffanThis dish freezes and reheats really well. This sauce is great spooned over rice!
Ingredients
- 3 lb chicken pieces like to use thighs with bones and skin.
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/8 tsp ground pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350oF.Arrange chicken in a single layer in a baking dish. Combine rest of ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well. Pour over chicken. It may be refrigerated at this point or placed in the preheated oven. Cook for 30 minutes. Allow an extra 2 minutes if refrigerated. Baste. Cook for an additional 20 to 40 minutes till skin is crispy and chicken is cooked through. Meat thermometer should register 180oF in thickest piece. Spoon fat from top of sauce before serving.
