Breaded Pork Chops with Ham & Mozzerella
Enjoy this dinner with egg noodles and your favourite sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops
- salt, pepper and flour
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 3/4 cup dry bread crumgs
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tbsp parmesan cheese grated
- 8 slices shaved black forest ham or proscuitto
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium tomato sliced in 4 pieces
- dried or freshly chopped basil leaves
Instructions
- Season chops lightly with salt and pepper. Dust with flour. Dip chops into the beaten egg, then into the bread crumbs to coat both sides. In a skillet, heat oil and butter. Cook chops on both sides just until cooked through and golden brown. Sprinkle the top with the lemon juice, then the parmesan. Top each one with 2 folded slices of ham. Place on quarter of the cheese on top of each piece. Place under the broiler, whose rack has been moved down, for a few minutes. Place one slice of tomato on top of each and sprinkle with basil. Return to the oven and grill tomato.
